01Who we are
AI Resume Builder (the app) is developed by Kripesh Adwani, operating under Cyberclaw Technologies (UpskillAI), referred to below as "we" and "us". For the purposes of data protection law, we act as the data controller and data fiduciary for the limited processing described here.
By using the app, you agree to the practices set out in this policy.
02On-device by default
The app keeps your career information in a database on your own device. We do not run a server that stores your Career Brain, your resumes, or your contact details. We cannot browse your data, and we cannot restore it for you if it is lost.
There is one exception, and we would rather state it plainly than bury it. Some features cannot run on the device. When you use them, specific content is transmitted to our AI provider, processed, and returned. Section 04 sets out exactly what is sent, and when.
03What the app handles
Career information you provide
When you import a resume or LinkedIn PDF, or type your details in manually, the app processes information such as your name, email address, phone number, links, work experience, education, skills, projects and certifications. All of it is stored locally.
Documents you upload
The PDF you import is read by the app and sent for AI extraction. We do not store your uploaded document on any server of ours.
Diagnostics and usage data
To keep the app stable, we may collect crash reports and anonymous usage events, such as the fact that an import failed or that a resume was generated. These never include the contents of your resume or your Career Brain.
Purchase information
Subscriptions are processed by Apple and Google. We receive your subscription status so that we can unlock premium features. We never receive or store your payment card details.
04AI processing and Google Gemini
The app uses Google's Gemini API for three things, each of them triggered by an action you take:
- Extraction: reading your uploaded document and turning it into structured career data.
- Quality analysis: reviewing how your experience descriptions are written.
- Enhancement: rephrasing the content you select for a resume into stronger bullet points.
To do this, the relevant content, which includes personal information such as your name, contact details and employment history, is transmitted to Google and processed on Google's infrastructure. That infrastructure may be located outside your country, including in the United States. The processing is governed by Google's terms for the Gemini API and by Google's privacy policy.
We use Google's paid Gemini API tier, under which Google states that prompts and responses are not used to improve or train Google's models.
The app does not send anything to Google in the background. Responses are cached on your device, so repeating the same action with unchanged content does not send your data again.
05What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your personal data.
- We do not show advertising, and we do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use your career data to train our own AI models.
- We do not share your resume with recruiters, employers, or any other third party.
06Legal basis for processing
Where the GDPR or a similar law applies, we rely on the following:
- Performance of a contract, to deliver the features you asked for, meaning importing, analysing and generating resumes.
- Legitimate interests, to keep the app secure, stable and free of abuse through diagnostics and crash reporting.
- Consent, where it is required for optional analytics, which you may decline without losing any feature.
07Retention and deletion
Your career data stays on your device for as long as you keep it there. You can edit or delete any entry, replace your Career Brain by importing again, or remove everything by deleting the app. Deleting the app removes the local database permanently.
Because we hold no copy, there is nothing on our side to delete. Crash and diagnostic records, which are not linked to your identity, are kept by our diagnostics provider for a limited period.
Please back up what you cannot lose. If your device is lost or reset, or the app is uninstalled, your Career Brain goes with it and we have no way to recover it. Use the export feature in the app to keep a copy of anything that matters to you.
08Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw your consent.
Because your data lives on your device, most of these rights are exercised directly in the app. Every field is visible and editable, you can export it, and you can delete it at any time. If you have a request we can help with, or a complaint about how we handle data, write to us at the address below. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
09Children
The app is not intended for children. You must be at least 16 years old to use AI Resume Builder. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.
10Security
Your data sits in your device's app storage, protected by the device's own security, including your passcode, biometrics, and operating system level sandboxing. Anything transmitted for AI processing is encrypted in transit over HTTPS.
If you have device backups turned on, such as iCloud or Google Backup, your app data may be included in those backups under the terms of those services.
No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, particularly on a device that is jailbroken, rooted, or shared with other people.
11Third-party services
The app relies on a small number of providers. Each of them processes data under its own privacy policy.
| Provider | Purpose | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Google Gemini | Document extraction, quality analysis, resume enhancement | The document and career content you submit for processing |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management and purchase validation | Anonymous purchase history and subscription entitlements |
| Apple and Google Play | Payment processing and billing | Your payment details, which we never receive |
| Crash and analytics provider | Stability monitoring and anonymous usage events | Device and error information, never resume content |
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app develops. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and where a change is significant we will tell you inside the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
